Abstract

InformationGenerative artificial intelligence (AI) is an emerging and Communicationrapidly Technologyevolving (ICT)technology. AI is the simulation of human intelligence in machines programmed to think and act like humans. The integration of AI technologies in primaryhigher education has revolutionizedthe teaching.potential Throughto computers,streamline tablets,didactic and interactiveresearch whiteboards, educators create dynamicprocesses and immersiveenhance learningtheir environments.outcomes. StudentsAlso, engage with interactive educational software, digital textbooks,technology and onlineauxiliary resources,teaching enhancinginclude comprehensionmany andtools retention.that ICT fosters collaborative learning opportunities, as students collaborate on projects and communicate with peers globally. It cultivates critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy skills essential for success in the 21st century. However, challenges like the digital divide and concerns regarding screen time and digital distractions warrant careful consideration. Despite challenges, ICT empowers educatorsserve to deliver innovative and engaging lessons, preparinghelp students to thriveget ininformation, anto increasinglyorganize digitaltheir society. Effective implementation requires ongoing professional development, robust infrastructurethinking, and pedagogicalto strategiesdemonstrate thattheir leverage technology effectively. learning.

This paperstudy presents a qualitative design research based on understanding the resultsacademics’ perceptions of researchusing whose goal wasAI to determinefacilitate thedidactic attitudesand ofresearch elementaryprocess schooland studentshow aboutthey ICTperceive its role within higher education in education.Albania. Two hundred students participated in the survey which was conducted by computer science teachers in the period from April to May 2023.

The results ofindicate thisthat academics have a positive perception that AI can be effectively used in personalized teaching and learning process, administrative and research presentsupport. The didactic sourcing technology should be used as part of the students'university perspectivetraining aboutprogram theand useincluding ofprotocols ICTregarding ethics in primary education and shedacademic light on students' perspectives regarding the students’ use of ICT in primary education. By delving into their experiences, preferences, and challenges encountered, we have uncovered a nuanced understanding of the role ICT plays in shaping their educational journey.integrity.
