This work explores STEAM as an educational approach in working with preschool children, which includes, among other things, the area of fine arts. It begins with a theoretical overview and explanation of both the term and the meaning of the abbreviation STEAM. This is followed by the description of the research conducted in 2024a whichpreschool aimedgroup, atwhere investigating24 students'children knowledge,aged attitudes, and behaviors regarding artificial intelligence (AI), thereby assessing their level of AI literacy. AI literacy is recognized as an essential component of contemporary education, involving the ability6 to interact7 withyears AI responsibly and effectively, along with understanding its ethical and social implications.participated. The study sample consists of undergraduate and graduate students from the University of Zagreb, with data collected through a survey questionnaire. The primary focusgoal of the research was to evaluatedetermine whether the depthimplementation of students'STEAM understandingexperiments related to art, affects the later involvement of AIchildren in art activities. Art-based research was conducted, and its societal impact. It investigated their utilization of AI tools in learning and problem-solving, along with theirthe attitudes and ethicalopinions awareness regarding AI. The results show that students are increasingly using AI tools in their learning process, butof the levelresearch ofparticipants awarenesswere ofpresented ethicalthrough usequalitative isdata still relatively low. This indicates the need for the development of educational programs focusing on the ethical use of AI technology.analysis.
